Murali continued on, searching for something to eat. He had given Frostbite the last bit of food and now the male was himself hungry. How could his cub not understand that survival was the most important thing? The grey saber sometimes wondered if he and his cub were even related.
Hearing his son's voice, Murali whirled around. "Stupid boy," he grunted under his breath, chasing after Frostbite. Using all the speed that he had, the male was able to catch up with the shrew chasing cub, overtaking him. His eye was now on the shrew for a meal. Leaping forward he caught the small creature under his paws, his jaws closing around it for a swift kill.
Sitting up he faced Frostbite, scolding his son, "What have I told you about letting a meal opportunity pass? Other creatures are food not play buddies! What were you thinking? or were you even thinking? We have no pride to help with the hunting Frostbite, it is just you and me. Where are you going to learn that?"
